Kiwano - Where is the Love [Prod By Mr Phresh]
"The song titled " Where is love " is the
perfect
present for every one on the special holiday, Boxing Day.The
Northern-Ghanaian born hip-hop artist with a stage name Kiwano has released a
debut , which is a cover and a Ghana version.
The "where is the love" song starts with 'we shall
overcome' a phrase which was used by the African American leaders during the
struggling for equal rights.
The song has a touch of every bite of the life of the
African. From the suffering of the poor children to how those put in positions
and authorities ignore the predicaments of the very people who gave them the
power they weild. An aspect
"The government all quite turning a deaf ear but they
will be wailing out like sirens when it comes to balloting times.
Funny times the same people sworn to protect us
living lavish
everyday while we eat the garbage
exploiting us of our rights. That's what they
good at like taking candy from a baby
Ohhh pls just don't do that"
Kiwano continued
saying "Fighting for our rights is
what we have to do now. If we ever
wanna see victory let's change some history first. We are equal, we all Gods
people and together we stand but divided we fall.
I say we fight"
Poverty, crime, exploitation of the people by their
government
and exploiting of Africa by the Western World, and racism were some factors the
song talks about.
"Racism is the talk of the day. They are killing black
people everywhere and treat us like game.
Our people are being shot on the streets but that ain't no
news.
They try to poison our minds with religion.
A new strategy..."
And the chorus goes,
"People killing, people dying
Children hurt and you hear them crying
Can you practice what you preach?
And would you turn the other cheek?
Father, father, father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me, got me questioning
Where is the love? (love)
Where is the love? (the love)
Where is the love? (the love)
Where is the love, the love, the love?"
However the single most important message in the
song is letting love lead. If we all live together and the nation stops being greedy, yes we shall overcome our ill-fated life as Africans and live together in peace, love and harmony.
song is letting love lead. If we all live together and the nation stops being greedy, yes we shall overcome our ill-fated life as Africans and live together in peace, love and harmony.
The song ends saying " Africa must unite".
