Eddy lee a dancehall artist laments on upper west hour, Sunday February 11, 2018 on W935fm how he was been unfairly treated by the board of PRUMAS, 4th edition of Progress Upper West Music Award 2017.

Eddy lee explained the structures that handle's his production works. He said ZMG Africa is the record label, ELK is the entity within the label and he Eddy Lee as sound Engineer all encompassed under ZMG Africa. 

He however mentioned that, he started music when he was at the tender age, used to follow Mr. Fosu doing shows at Jamboree. To him doing music is God given talent and all that he needs is fresh mind to do good music when asked on how he derives his music lyrics from, he indicated.

The 'Daa Wo loo' hit maker who has always been tagged controversial in most of his songs narrated the ordeal he has been through at the just ended 4th edition of progress upper west music awards.

He pointed out stating that "in 2017 alone, he recorded 36 songs, 6 videos that is the 'Tintingah album' which was duly launched at Tumu.
Participating in this year's award scheme, Eddy lee disclosed that he filed seven (7) categories and had not won a single category which he finds strange. He stated that "sometimes we keep mute because, we don't want people to talk ill about us", he lamented.

According to Eddy lee, reports came from PRUMAS main organizers that had it that "Eddy Lee is the only artist who filed for revenue song of the year. When the nomination list was out, another nominee appeared from no where and was added to compete with me, which means they wouldn't give it to me no matter how I vote. We filed Album of the year and video of the year the same day and also filed Okito (an Artist) into PRUMAS this year because he is part of my productions" he stated.

He added stating that "I filed Okito two categories, filed video and album of the year, when the nomination list was released, Okito was not nominated into any of the categories filed, my video and album of the year nominations were not captured, when i drew their attention to it, i was told that my nominations had met deadline for that matter were disqualified and for all i know, I have never picked a form send it to the house and bring it the next day to submit, the day I picked a form,  that very day I fill it and submit. If you knew the forms could not meet deadline then why did you sell the forms to us in the first place. The next time we went to check on the list, the video of the year had it way in but the Album of the year category was still missing, Okito's two also got nominated, so what are you trying to tell me, when I asked hey told me that my album was not in the market and cassettes shops for sale", Eddy Lee explained.

Moreover, He disclosed that they have conducted a survey, carried out research in cassette shops in town gathered enough evidence that had it that the album "Sunkando" was not out in the market for sale, but the board qualified it, and his album "Tintingah" was disqualified simply because the board has ruled that my album "Tintingah'' is not in cassette shops or market for sale. In recent times who even buy CD's, so this makes me feel that no matter how you vote still they won't give it to you because the beginning there are issues as to how to get nominated to what category not to even talk of winning, that is why for he Eddy Lee to talk of PRUMAS "I have kept mute because I don't want people to talk ill about us, standing somewhere to say what they don't know, if not we have audios that enveloped all the evidences surrounding what transpired during this year's upper west music awards" he indicated. 
"It took us closed to two weeks following the board to correct the anomaly and to our dismay, a board member told me that the time they were doing the sorting my album of the year nomination form couldn't be found. The said board member is ready to attest to the fact that the album of the year form couldn't be found during the cross examination's of the nomination forms. When we started complaining, they decided to push three categories in, Okito's two nominations and my video of the year".

Eddy Lee again pointed out that the song he filed for video of the year (Tintingah music video) was also the same song filed for Album of the year category, so what he is finding difficult to understand is, if the same song filed qualified for Best video of the year category then how come it didn't  qualify for Album of the year, this makes  him feel that he don't deserve it, he opened.
"Before we filed, we were served with the conditions to be met before filing into any category, we read it and understood perfectly, what pains me is that they think all of us have not been to school we are all like that, let me put it clear that some of us have been to Tertiary others completed universities but decided to do music, we have certificates that we can be gainfully be employed by G.E.S to teach but decided to do music", Eddy Lee added.
Moreover, he explained that they brought the forms and they read it and understood everything, according to the conditions attached to Artist of the year category, "they told us after filing, I was qualified to pick artist of the year, but because of the criteria required of the artist of the year, then he considered himself not qualified, the criteria have it that someone who qualifies to file for artist of the year, you have to headline three shows or headline artist of a show organised by someone, be of good character and have a hit song. I am of good character, have a hit songs but didn't headline three shows and with respect to the criteria then i am not qualified". 

Eddy lee posited indicating that, most of the Artists listed under the artist of the year category were not qualified with regards to the criterion stipulated in the nomination form. They said, they kept them there because they are helping the industry, "how are you helping the industry by putting square pegs in round hole's".
"if i do not deserve it allow me to go and struggle hard next year and come and deserve it, the fact is they kept them there so that they vote for them to get more money" he alleges.
